I Love My Kids

Feeding a new born at 1:30 in the morning, you have a lot of time to just think. I was thinking this morning about my kids and how great they are. I am extremely thankful that this holiday season we were all healthy and happy. I find joy in every moment with my kids and as much as it pains me I have to go back to work on Monday, leaving them behind. I am very grateful for the time my dad spent with us and I now understand what it takes to be a father like he was... is. I will always cherish the time I have with my children and I hope that when they grow up they will think of me not as a good father but a great father as I do mine.

I love them with all of my heart and I would do anything for them. I don't really know why I felt compelled to write this. I guess the new baby and all the emotions of the season have plucked my heart stings. I hope I can inspire other parents reading this to always say "I love you" when ever you can and spend as much time with your kids as you can. I know there will be a day when we won't share a roof any longer and I pray that they take away as much from our time together as I will.

We're Home!

So, I guess I should have posted this on Monday, but we're home! We got to come home Monday afternoon which was just wonderful. Caleb and I were both doing great...and still are. Angie seems to love her little brother. When she pays attention to him, she wants to kiss him and is excited to talk about him. Most of the time she just ignores him though. She has been a little more whiny and fussy than usual but I think that's just because her world has been in chaos since last week. Caleb is just a wonderful baby. We are so happy to have him as a part of our family. He looks like my side of the family. He has dark hair and dark eyes and a darker complexion than Angie. Most everyone agrees that he looks like my dad. He is a great eater, which is a relief because Angie is so finicky, its nice to have a child that eats! He has been sleeping really well at night, but we'll see how long that lasts. I am not expecting him to be the perfect child. Caleb doesn't seem to mind the noise that Angie makes, the only thing that annoys him is having his diaper changed. He doesn't really like that. Nick is just smitten with him, and so am I for that matter. I wasn't sure how it would feel to be the mom to a son but so far it just feels natural. We are really excited about tomorrow being Christmas. Speaking of that, I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas!!!

Caleb Is Here!!!

Well, Caleb James Adair finally made his arrival. I was supposed to be induced on Thursday morning, but the hospital did not call me to come in until Saturday evening. They broke my water at 8:45 this morning and he was born at 12:08. I was only in labor for about 3 and a half hours (half of the time of Angie's birth).

All in all, he came fairly easily. He weighed 7 lbs and is 20 inches long. He has dark eyes (we think they are brown) and dark hair. He looks like my side of the family. Angie has already met her baby brother. She is not sure what to think of him yet. We will see what happens when we get him home and she realizes he is there to stay. That's all for now. We are all very excited!!

Angie's Future Husband

Well, when we found out that Angie was a girl, we thought surely she would grow up to marry Samuel, our friend's son. However, I think our other friend's son, Ryan, has captured that coveted place. This is how cozy they like to get when they play and Ryan always wants to give her hugs. Angie gets very excited when she knows that Ryan is coming over to play. This picture is from their playdate yesterday.

Yet Another Update

We went back to the doctor today and I am still dilated to a 3. Caleb is still very high. I am scheduled to go to the hospital on Thursday evening to prep me for the induction on Friday morning. That is unless Caleb decides to come on his own between now and then. If he comes on Friday, both he and Angie will have their birthdays on the 19th of the month and they both would have been born at 37 weeks and 1 day. That's kind of neat I think. I will post again once he is here with all of the details and particulars.

Until then...

Baby Update Again

I went to the doctor today. I am now dilated to a 3. I am having some contractions but they monitored me in the office and they aren't strong enough or regular enough for them to go ahead and send me to the hospital. Had they been strong and regular, she was going to send me right then. I have an appt on Tuesday for a check up and then my induction is scheduled for next Thursday evening (the 18th). That is unless Caleb decides to shake things up and come on before then. I kind of feel like he will come on his own in the next couple of days but we'll just have to see. I have been praying that he would come when it is his time to come and not before. I guess God has really been listening to those prayers. That's all for now. I will either update after my appt on Tuesday or sooner if he decides to come then.

Baby Update

We thought that I was going to be induced this week, but it looks like that is not going to happen. My protein levels did not go up enough to warrant being induced this week. I go back to the doctor on Thursday for my regular appt. I guess that if everything is the same at that time, we will schedule my induction for the following week, hopefully around the 17th. So, I am still on bed rest, which stinks, but if its better for Caleb to develop one more week then I am ok with it. Angie was born of her own volition at 37 weeks and she was perfectly fine. If I have the induction on the 17th, that will be 37 weeks. I know Caleb will be fine if he comes next week. I'll update again after my appt on Thursday.

Another Pregnancy Update

Well, some of you already know what's going on, but let me fill in everyone else. I have been officially diagnosed with mild pre-eclampsia and it is borderline severe. I just took in another 24 hour urine sample today. They will get the results next week. If the protein level is over 300mg then I will have severe pre-eclampsia and they will go ahead and induce my labor. I have an appointment on Thursday of next week to see my doctor again but I guess if the protein is high enough, they won't wait until then, they'll call me and have me go to the hospital sooner. If, however, the level is not over 300mg then I will be induced the following week, probably on the 17th. My level this last week was 293mg so I am fully expecting that Caleb will be born next week. This would mean that he would be born at 36 weeks which is considered preterm but he will still be fine. We are trying to get the final things ready around here so that if he comes next week, we won't be totally unprepared. I didn't want to have an induction but if its best for mine and Caleb's health, then I am ok with it. Once I know something else about my labwork, I will update again.

Caleb Update

Well, I went to the doctor yesterday and I am now on bed rest. I have a mild case of pre-eclampsia. My doctor has said that if I go into labor on my own after 35 and 1/2 weeks they will not stop it. That would be around the 7th or 8th of December. If, however, I have not gone into labor by the 37th week, which would be around the 17th or 18th, then they are going to induce me. I really would like to go into labor on my own though. So, either way, we are going to have our little boy here by Christmas. I guess its a good thing that we bought a baby's first Christmas sleeper. I should be fine to take care of Angie while on bed rest. She is pretty self sufficient so things should be fine here. Well, that's all for now, I should get back on the couch with my feet up.

Pregnancy Update

I went to the doctor yesterday and wanted to let you know what happened. I had an ultrasound because I was measuring large. It turns out that I just have a lot of amniotic fluid (just like when I was pregnant with Angie). My doctor did tell me that it could cause early labor (like with Angie) so Caleb may make an early arrival, we'll just have to see. They are also checking me for pre-eclampsia. I have a few of the symptoms so my doctor is trying to be cautious and proactive which I appreciate (after all, she is the best doctor in the whole world!). I go back on Tuesday so that they can check my blood pressure and we can review the results of my bloodwork and 24 hour urinalysis. The last few times I have gone, my BP is high (140/90) when they first take it and then comes down to normal after a few minutes of sitting and relaxing. A fluctuating BP is one of the symptoms of pre-eclampsia. We had just been chalking it up to the hustle of getting me and Angie in the door and in the room and all of that but we'll see what the results of the tests show. I am really not too concerned about all of this, I had these same issues when I was pregnant with Angie and I was never diagnosed with pre-eclampsia and Angie and I were perfectly fine. I'll let you know what happens at next week's appointment. Have a great weekend!!

Belly Pics

I had a friend comment that there aren't any pics of my pregnancy on this blog. Well, here is a picture. It was taken today so you know that its what I look like right now. I seem to be carrying Caleb all out front so to me I seem ENORMOUS!! I guess I'm not but it just seems that way to me.

Fall Fun

We had some fun outside today and I thought you might want to see the pictures. Angie loves to be outside and throws quite a fit when we have to come back in. She just doesn't understand that it gets too cold or windy or that mommy has a backache. We tried to play with bubbles but it was way too windy. I just wish we had a bigger yard so she could run and play more. Maybe our next house will have a bigger yard.

We took her to see Santa today (I know its early but we wanted to avoid the lines) and let's just say that he isn't her favorite. She cried quite loudly. We managed to get one ok picture but it wasn't what I had envisioned. But, I was always scared of Santa to I shouldn't be surprised. I don't have it scanned in or anything so I am not sharing it right now...sorry! I am glad to know that her Christmas dress fits and looks great on her. We are taking her Christmas pics in a couple of weeks and that is one less thing to worry about.

Angie's Teeth

There's some big news in our house...Angie is cutting two molars!!!! I am really excited (maybe too excited). There is one on each side. I noticed the first one yesterday and the second one today. She has been pretty crabby this week but I just chalked it up to Nick being out of town and the fact that she missed him. I do think she misses him but now I know there is a physical reason she has been crabby. I had noticed that she was gnawing on her hands a lot the last couple of weeks so I thought that her molars might be coming in, but I wasn't really sure.

Angie talks so much now. She will repeat just about anything. She doesn't just repeat though, I usually have to ask her to say what I am saying. I am trying to teach her how to say "I love you". She does say please and thank you when prompted now. At least she's polite! She seems to be understanding a little more about baby. If she sees a baby on TV she will look at my stomach and I think she might be making the connection.

On the baby front, everything is going fine. I got the results of my glucose tolerance test and I don't have gestational diabetes. I kind of figured that I didn't but its nice to know for sure. I go back on Tuesday, I am already at the every two week appointments. I can't believe its that close. You only have a couple of two week appointments and then you go every week and then a baby comes!! I can't believe I only have 10 weeks left (or 7 if he is like his sister).

That's all for now. If something important comes out of Tuesday's appointment, I'll let you know.

Angie, Angie, Angie

Well, little miss Angie has definitely grown up a lot over the last few weeks. She has learned how to say "no" but she only says it to Ryan (her playmate) and usually only if he has picked up her beloved Babo (Elmo). She is doing much better in the childcare on Sundays and on Thursdays for my Bible study. She goes right in and plays and has a good time. She has definitely learned how to try my patience. She will do things just for defiance sake. I know that it is just a phase but some days are quite challenging. On the whole, she is still just the best little girl. Everywhere we go, we hear how cute and adorable she is (like we didn't know that already). I actually had someone tell me the other day that she should be in commercials. She is quite talkative these days, although I still don't understand most of what comes out of her mouth. She can repeat a lot of words (Nick even got her to repeat the alphabet). She has finally come up with a name for her babysitter, Jessica. She calls her Kika. She does seem to like the idea of a baby in Mommy's tummy, she kisses it and says Hi to baby. I am including a pic of her with her best friend and her favorite TV show.

Caleb's Room is Ready

Well, we finally have Caleb's room ready for his arrival. The only thing missing are some paintings by my best friend and Angie and Caleb's godmother, Jana. I know it seems a little early to get the room ready, but I feel much more relaxed knowing that it is done.

We found his bedding first and room came from that. We went with a theme of brown and blue. Also, we are using sock monkeys to decorate. We are really excited to have it completed, it makes him seem more real. Of course, all of the kicking he does reminds me every day that he's there. Its just knowing that we are ready for him makes me feel at ease.

I don't have to worry about that anymore. We are keeping the door closed to his room so that the cats stop going in there. They have to realize that its not their room anymore. I have no idea how they are going to adjust to having another baby in the house to chase them. Well, I hope you like Caleb's room as much as we do!

As Promised...

Angie had her check up today. She is now 22 lbs and 3 oz. We finally reached more than 20 lbs!!! Yay!!!!! She is 32 and 1/4 in. tall. Her height is in the 75th percentile and her weight is in the 25th percentile. She was not thrilled that we were at the doctor's office. She screamed and cried while being weighed, measured, and examined. She thankfully didn't have to have any shots today. So that's all. The picture I am including is just funny. She thinks she can fill her Daddy's shoes!

She's a Big Girl Now

Its now official, Angie is a big girl. She has moved into her "big girl bed". We wanted to accomplish this long before Caleb was born so that she wouldn't feel like he "stole" her bed. She has been in the toddler bed for about a week and a half. She is doing great. Occasionally she falls out (we have pillows on the floor) but ususally she stays in her bed all night long and during all of her naps. When she does fall or get out of bed during the night, she just lays down on the floor on the pillows and goes back to sleep.

I think she really enjoys her new "big girl room" because she has a lot of toys at her level and I think it makes her feel more independent. I do think we have hit the terrible two's already though. She will go to touch something that she knows is off limits and will look at me the whole time to see if I am watching and what I will do about it. I even think she rolled her eyes at me the other day! She is talking up a storm although we still don't understand most of what she says. She is getting better at repeating words we say though. Just yesterday I got her to say "please". I don't think she knows how to use it correctly yet, but she will learn. She goes to the doctor tomorrow for her (can you believe it) 18 month check up. I'll update after that with all of her new pertinent information (i.e. has she actually gained weight).

On the baby front, little Caleb is very active. He just loves to kick mommy all the time. He seems to be quite strong already so I am not sure what to expect once he is born. We heard his heartbeat again on Friday and he is doing just fine. I have to have my glucose screen the next time I go for an appointment and get my Rhogam shot since I have a negative blood type.

I guess that's all for now. I'll post again tomorrow after Angie's appointment. Here are some pics of her "big girl room". Hope you enjoy!

Clothesline

We had our annual clothing giveaway at church this past weekend. It was absolutely amazing. When you see people who are down on their luck and they come and receive a blessing, it is just the most wonderful thing. We have been collecting clothing for the past 6 weeks and we filled a 40 foot trailer to the brim. We had over 250 volunteers come and unload that trailer and sort all of those bags of clothes. When you see the mountain of clothes and then you see how God moves it, you will never be the same. Some of those volunteers were there on Saturday to help the "shoppers" and to load their bags in cars and find items and just be there. We had 400 people lined up at the door before we opened at 8:00am.

This is the 5th year that our church has done this and Nick and I are always amazed by what we see. This event was the vision of Melanie Mooney (who has become one of my favorite people), she had a passion and a call and we have all helped her to acheive it. I am including the pics that I took, although Melanie's daughter got much better ones. For those of you reading this that were volunteers, I want to say a HUGE "THANK YOU!!!!!!!". We could not have done it without you (and we look forward to seeing you next year!).

We have a name!!

Well, we have finally picked a name for our baby boy. Unless something drastic changes between now and January, his name will be Caleb James Adair. Now some of you may wonder where we came up with this name. Well, Caleb, I just liked. It was an uncommon, but not unusual, name. James was Nick's great grandfather's name, his childhood best friend's name and my father's name. So, it just seemed kind of perfect. Also, he will have the same initials as Nick's mom. We are slowly getting his room together. Right now, it just looks like a room full of stuff but soon it will be complete. Once we have it presentable, I will take some pics and post them. For now, just use your imagination!
On the baby front, I am really feeling him move now. Nick hasn't been able to feel it yet because as soon as I get Nick's hand on my stomach, he stops. He is much more active at this stage than Angie was and I am wondering if that is just a sign of things to come. I am feeling pretty good, except for this nagging back pain and a belly that prevents me from moving certain ways. I have another doctor's appointment on Friday so I will post anything new that comes from that appointment. I am posting a pic from his ultrasound on August 27. It is of his profile for those of you who have told me that you don't understand ultrasound photos.

Angie's Adventures!

Angie has had several adventures in the last couple of weeks. She went to the Atanta Zoo, the Georiga Aquarium, and the new World of Coke. She didn't enjoy the zoo as much as we hoped she would. I think it was because she couldn't be up close and personal with the animals. Daddy did take her into the petting zoo and let her pet a sheep (sorry, no pics of that, the smell was too strong so they went in alone).

I am including pics from all of our adventures so that everyone can see what we did. It just so happened that we were at the zoo the day before the panda gave birth! Once we got to the aquarium, Angie seemed to enjoy herself more. I think it was because she could touch the tanks so she felt like she was touching the fish. Speaking of the fish, I had to marvel at God's handiwork while we were there. Most of us would categorize the animals at the aquarium as "fish", but I saw so much creativity there. No two species of fish were the same and they were all so beautiful in their own way. It is amazing to know that our Creator is so concerned with the details that he even made our fish different! Ok, back to the adventures...I think Angie's favorite part was the large tank that is featured on channel 11 news. She really enjoyed watching as each individual fish swam by her and she could "touch" them.

The next day, we went to the World of Coke with Memommy, Pop Pop, and Nana. Angie wasn't as interested in that as the rest of us were. At least she didn't cry when we saw the giant polar bear mascot and got her picture made with him. She liked the movie that they show at the beginning, it seemed to be her favorite part. She then went to the Varsity in down town Atlanta for the first time and had a cheeseburger. I think she liked it, she did not however, care for the Frosted Orange that Daddy tried to share with her. Not sure why, its one of my favorite things.
All in all, we had a lot of fun! It was great family time.

Its A BOY!!!!!!!

So we had our ultrasound today and found out that we are having a little boy!!! I am quite in shock as I was certain that we were having a girl. We haven't been able to agree on a boy name at all so that should be interesting. Any of you who have boys, I think I am going to need all of the help I can get. Nick is happy (but he would have been happy either way). I am sure that as soon as the shock wears off I will be excited too.

Poor Kitty

Hi everyone. Sorry its been so long since my last post but there just hasn't been too much to blog about. Now, however, there is. Our precious cat, George, is at the vet. He has had really stinky breath for awhile now and Nick noticed last week that his gums looked like they might have been bleeding. I took him to the vet on Wednesday and the doctor said he needed his teeth cleaned and possibly one or two teeth needed to be pulled. I took him back yesterday for the cleaning and surgery. His pre-op blood work showed some poor kidney levels. He has been on IV fluids at the vet since yesterday morning. He had to stay overnight last night. I am waiting to hear back from the vet's office so that I can go pick him up. He can't have the surgery until next week. We went yesterday to see George at the vet and he was so sad looking. Fortunately, we found out that a girl who goes to our church works at the office so I know he will be getting the very best care. Plus the vet is the father of a friend of mine. I am including a pic of our little George. For those of you who don't know, we have had George since right before we got married and he was our first "baby".

Pigtails and Teeth

Angie has started wearing her hair up almost everytime we leave the house. What seems to be the crowd favorite is her pigtails. Nick has been the only one to do them so far (I have only attempted the single ponytail on top). I am including a pic of the pigtails. Angie has a new tooth. I think it is called an eye tooth. It is the one next to her two bottom teeth. I just noticed it the other day and we are very excited. It looks as though the one on the other side of her bottom teeth is about to cut through too. Its amazing, she went for months with only two teeth and now they are just coming and coming. That's all for now.

Baby Update

I had my check up today. I am 17 weeks today. My blood pressure was fine (100/80) and I have only gained 4 pounds during the entire pregnancy. This is good for me since I was overweight to begin with. The baby's heart rate is in the 140's (this is the same as Angie always was). We actually had to do a brief ultrasound to see the heart rate because Dr. Shin couldn't find it with the doppler. I wasn't worried though because I have already begun to feel the baby move so I knew everything was ok. I go back on August 27 to have a full ultrasound which will check the growth of the baby and determine the sex!!! That's all for now.

Angie's First Road Trip

You can probably tell from the title of this blog what its about! Angie went on her first road trip last week. We went on a business trip with Daddy. We went to the exciting Huntsville, AL. Ok, so maybe not exciting but at least we were with Daddy. Angie did wonderful. The first day she didn't sleep all that well because we were in the same room, but after that she did just fine. She got to see her Daddy everyday before he left for work, at lunch, and as soon as he was done with work. Needless to say, she is now quite the Daddy's girl. When he would leave us after lunch to go back to work she would just cry and cry. Angie and I kept busy by playing in the hotel room, running the halls of the hotel and shopping. We didn't buy much but it was fun to look. They have a very nice mall in Huntsville so that was good. The only bad thing was the heat. It was over 100 degrees the first 2 days we were there. That was just miserable! Our hotel room was very nice and quite large so it made being there with Angie that much easier. I missed our cats greatly but I think I was the only one. Angie did fairly well in the car on the way there and back...much better than I expected her to. Although, after we got back, she wasn't happy about getting back in the car so that we could return the rental and go to dinner. Sorry this was so long but there was a lot to say about Angie's first trip!

Summer Fun

Sorry its been awhile since my last post. There just hasn't been that much going on at our house. Angie is still as active as ever and she is wearing me out trying to keep up with her. She has a language all her own (gee, I wish I had a translator). We have finally gotten Angie comfortable being in the big pool. The first time she cried a lot and acted like she hated it but now she laughs while we are in there and we have even gotten her to kick her legs some. Nick tried blowing in her face and dunking her under the water last night...she did NOT like that! We finally got me a preggie bathing suit so that I can swim with them (I did not have any bathing suits that fit me!) which seems to make Angie a little more comfortable. She had a lot of fun last night going between the two of us. I don't have any pics of Angie enjoying the water, those are on the camera and I don't know how to get them off.

There isn't anything new to report on the pregnancy. I think I might have felt the baby move a little last night but I am not really sure. It may have been nothing but my imagination. I guess that's all for now. I promise not to wait so long before posting again.

Baby Update

I had my doctor's appointment yesterday. I am now 13 weeks, so at the end of the 13th week I will be out of my 1st trimester! All was well with the baby. The hearbeat was in the 150's. We couldn't get a specific number because my heartbeat was overlapping the baby's heartbeat. When we had Angie, the first time we heard her heartbeat it was completely clear and strong. This time I had to strain to hear the baby's heartbeat because it was behind mine! Dr. Shin did say that she could hear the baby moving, even though I can't feel it! I go back in 4 more weeks.

Sorry, no pics this time. There was no need for another ultrasound.

Bye Bye Passy

This has been an important weekend at our house...the passy is gone! Now, we know that some of you will think we took it away too early but we want it to be a distant memory before the baby comes in January and has one of its own. If you know Angie at all, you know how much she loves her passy. This was a hard decision to make and even harder to enforce. It breaks my heart to hear her crying in bed because she wants her passy to help her sleep. But, Mommy and Daddy are being strong and we are not giving in. As a matter of fact, I threw the passies away today. They are gone and never coming back. Our little baby is growing up so fast! We have been gradually lessening her time with passy over the last several weeks but Friday was the first full day and night without it. I am including one of the many pictures of Angie with her best friend so you can see just how much she loved it. I guess her stuffed Elmo will have to be her comforter.

Til next time...

11 Years and Counting!

I bet you are wondering what that title means! Well, Nick and I have been together for 11 years today. We starting dating on June 25, 1997. Now, I realize that this isn't our wedding anniversary so it may not seem as important to some of you, but it is very important to me. I didn't even realize the date until I was checking my email today. I find it hard to believe that the guy I fell in love with 11 years ago is still the guy who makes my heart flutter when he comes home and smiles at me. I can't believe that the guy I fell in love with all those years ago is now the father of my child and that he is the last thing I see before I go to sleep and the first thing I see when I wake up. I love him more today than I ever thought I could.

I know this was kind of a sappy post, but I just wanted to share this day with all of you!

Whew...what a busy week!

Wow, we have had such a busy week! It was Adventure Week at church (our church's ramped up version of Vacation Bible School). Nick did the lighting and I served food to the volunteers. I didn't get to actually see the kids in action but from the bits and pieces of conversations that I heard, the week was great for the kids. Mike Linch, our pastor, came in the kitchen last night and said he just had a whole group of children accept Christ. To see the joy on his face was just wonderful. Angie did ok in the childcare considering that she didn't know any of the people taking care of her.

Speaking of Angie, she went to the doctor yesterday. She is 30 and 3/4 inches tall (the 75th percentile) and she is 19 pounds 9 ounces (the 15th percentile). She did not like it when Dr. Clements examined her, I think that's just because she was forced to lie down when she wanted to walk around. She had to get 4 shots (poor baby). She did ok with them but she was running a fever today so she got more Tylenol.

Pregnancy wise, there is nothing to tell. Things are pretty much just the same. I go to the doctor on July 2 so I will have more to report then. That's all for now. Thanks for stopping by!

Lemons, Teeth, and Exams, Oh My!

Hello again. We have had a big weekend here at the Adair house. Nick took his big certification exam on Saturday. We are very happy to have that behind us. He has been studying very hard for the last several weeks. We won't get the results for a few months but at least the test is behind us.

Angie got another tooth!! It is her top right tooth. We are very excited considering she has been working with only 2 teeth since December. We also found out that she likes lemons (she is her mother's daughter). We went out to eat after Nick's exam and I had lemonade. I decided to see if she would like it...she loved it! Then we decided to see what she would do with a lemon wedge. She tried to take bites off of it and wanted to finish it. The funny thing about it is that I craved lemons the entire time I was pregnant with her!

Small update on the pregnancy. It seems as though the worst of the morning sickness is behind me. I still occasionally feel a little sick, but for the most part I am feeling back to my old self again.

Well, that's all for now. I'll try to update again soon.

Angie's Accomplishments

Well, we thought we should tell you a little bit about our precious little Angie. She is almost 15 months old now. She says about 12 words (some of which only Nick and I understand). She runs around this house, and yes I do mean runs. She is always asking what things are and she loves books. We just bought her a kiddie pool and though she didn't like it at first, now she loves it! In fact, her friend Ryan is coming over today so they can go "swimming" together. I would post some pics of her in her pool, but Nick isn't here and he is the one who knows how to do all of that. I am the typist, he is the picture guy.

Angie seems to understand everything we say now, even though sometimes she likes to ignore us. She loves Elmo...we watch Sesame Street every day now. Its hard to believe that a show I watched as a child is now entertaining and teaching my daughter. Angie loves our cats, though they just run from her. She tries to get them to play with her but they are too lazy for that. She loves to talk to her Dada on the phone. Well, that's all for now. I have to go play with my precious little princess!

Pregnancy News

Well, I am now 9 and a half weeks. I have had my first ultrasound and saw the baby's heartbeat and we know that everything is ok. I am having the woes of morning sickness and fatigue but I guess that's just all part of the package. This is nothing worse than I experienced with Angie so I guess you could say I am used to it. I have found that the miracle cure for my morning sickness (what a joke, its more like all day sickness) is Sprite. Just give me some Sprite and I'm good to go.

We'll try to keep y'all updated on my progress and how the baby is doing. I may not have a lot to post during the early stages, but as we progress I am sure I will have more to say. That's all for now. Thanks for stopping by!

Welcome to our blog

We just wanted to give you a little background on us. Nick and I have been married for 4 and a half years and we welcomed Angie in March 2007. We are now pregnant with our second baby and it is due January 8, 2009 (I happen to think its a girl but we'll just have to wait and see). We want to use this blog to update our family and friends about Angie and the pregnancy. We hope you enjoy!
